Waqrapukara (two Quechua words, waqra horn and pukara fortress, which means fortress in the shape of a horn) is an archaeological site located in the district of Acos and in the province of Acomayo. It is located near the Apurímac River at 4 300 masl or 14,107 feet. It was built by the Qinchas and then conquered by the Incas. It was declared in July of 2017 as Cultural Heritage of the Nation by the Ministry of Culture. The historical site would have been an Inca sanctuary. The Inca Site is located on platforms, squares and a stone forest.
